PSG Edges Olympique de Marseille in a Shootout to Lift French Super Cup in Kuwait.

PSG players celebrating

The Parisian club has now claimed the prestigious cup on 14 separate times.

The Parisian giants needed a stoppage-time leveler followed by a successful spot-kick decider to get past Marseille in Kuwait and capture a record-extending fourth consecutive Trophee des Champions victory.

The European champions appeared to be coasting towards a comfortable triumph in the match between the Ligue 1 winners and the French Cup holders after the French winger found the scoring in the opening stages.

Yet, Marseille fired twice in the closing moments to take a surprise advantage. First, the English forward converted from the spot-kick, before the defender unfortunately directed the ball into his own net for an own-goal.

In a breathtaking turn of events, Goncalo Ramos grabbed a vital leveler in the final moments to send the match into a penalty shootout. The Parisian shot-stopper Chevalier then emerged as the key figure, stopping decisive attempts from Matt O'Riley and Traore.

In the shootout, Ramos, the midfielder, the full-back, and the young talent all scored with composure for Paris Saint-Germain to seal a 4-1 penalty victory.

Now 14-time champions Paris Saint-Germain, who met last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Olympique de Marseille after achieving a domestic double, have now lifted this competition for the 12th time in the past 13 seasons.
